Local Discount Pass (operated by Local Discount Pass LLC, “we,” “us,” or “our”) helps members find and use discounts at participating local businesses. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle information through our website and related services.

1. Our privacy commitment

We do not sell or rent your personal information. We do not share your personal information with other companies for their own marketing or advertising. Limited disclosures needed to operate the service, fulfill your requests, or comply with law are described below.

2. Information we collect

• Account information: your name, email address, securely hashed password, and account status.
• Membership information: subscription provider and identifier, status, and relevant membership dates. When purchases are processed by an app store or payment provider, that provider handles payment details under its own privacy policy.
• Activity: saved favorite businesses and offer redemption records, including dates and redemption status.
• Location: location you provide, such as a ZIP code or city, and device location when you grant permission to find nearby discounts or check availability before signup. ZIP-code availability checks send the entered ZIP code to our ZIP lookup provider, Zippopotam.us, to obtain an approximate center. Device coordinates used for this availability check are not saved to your account; the session temporarily records the coverage result and check time.
• Technical information: sign-in cookies and device tokens, and technical information such as IP address, browser details, and server logs used to operate and protect the service.
• Communications and business applications: information you send to us, including contact details and business information if you apply to participate.

3. How we use information

We use information to create and maintain accounts, verify membership, display relevant discounts, save favorites, process and validate redemptions, respond to requests, administer business applications, prevent misuse, troubleshoot problems, and meet legal obligations.

4. Limited disclosures

Service providers that help us host, maintain, secure, or support the service may process information needed for those tasks. Payment and app-store providers may process information needed to complete purchases and verify subscriptions. These operational disclosures are not permission to use your information for unrelated marketing.

When you redeem an offer, the participating business may see the pass, code, or redemption confirmation you present. Information you provide directly to that business is governed by its own practices.

We may disclose information when required by applicable law or valid legal process, or when reasonably necessary to address fraud, security threats, or protect legal rights. We may also disclose information at your direction or with your permission.

5. Cookies and location choices

We use cookies and device tokens to maintain sessions and remember sign-ins. You can remove or block cookies through your browser, although some features may stop working. You can deny or revoke location permission in your browser or device settings and use available manual location-search options.

We do not use third-party analytics tools or advertising pixels. When a business signs up, we send its street address, city, state, and ZIP code to the U.S. Census geocoding service to obtain approximate business coordinates. We do not send its password, contact name, phone number, or email address in this lookup. Customer device location is not sent to this service. Device location is obtained through your browser or device with your permission. We do not use your activity for cross-site advertising. Because we do not conduct that tracking, a browser Do Not Track signal does not change how the service operates.

6. Retention and security

We retain information only for as long as reasonably needed for the purposes described here, including maintaining your account, resolving disputes, preventing abuse, and satisfying legal obligations. When information is no longer needed, we delete or de-identify it. Backup copies may remain temporarily until replaced through normal backup processes.

We use reasonable safeguards to protect personal information. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure.

7. Your requests

You can update available account details in My Account. Contact info@localdiscountpass.com to ask about access, correction, or deletion of your information. Depending on where you live, you may have additional privacy rights. We may need to verify your identity and may retain information where permitted or required by law. We will not discriminate against you for exercising applicable privacy rights.

A data or account deletion request does not automatically cancel a subscription purchased through Apple, Google, or another payment provider. Manage that subscription with the provider to stop future charges.

8. Children

Our service is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information. If you believe a child under 13 has provided personal information, contact us so we can investigate and take appropriate action.

9. Other websites and changes

Links to other websites and services are governed by those providers’ privacy practices. We may update this policy and will post the revised version with its effective date. We will provide additional notice or obtain consent when required for a material change.
